Number 8 skillet, 10 inches outside diameter not including the spouts. External heat ring. Okay, this looks like a near wreck to me and has a lot of points off as will be described below, but seems about average based on other Favorite Piqua Ware skillets I see listed and also selling. So changing my condition rating from “fair” which would apply to a Wagner or Griswold in similar condition to “average” based on comparison with other sold examples of this item. There is a bit of a valley in the cooking well and corresponding high spot on the bottom (in photo four egg shape outline just below the middle of the well). However it is stable, no spin, on the flattest surface I can find. Slight move and rattle when when pushing on one area of the rim. Can get only one index card under the heat ring at that spot. No plating remains in the well. Well has a lot of black area that I was unable to remove after lye, electrolysis, vinegar and manual labor. Could be used although I would avoid electric stove top, my theory is that’s the best and quickest way to warp any pan. Gas, oven, campfire or BBQ are the better choices, in my opinion only. Heated indirectly and applied grape seed oil as a rust protective. Unfortunately unable to use the oven so I can’t complete the full pre seasoning process by baking the item. If you feel the need to complete the process rather than just dive in with a bit of cooking oil, then I would start with the step of heating the pan at 300 degrees per these instructions: https://fieldcompany.com/pages/how-to-season-cast-iron-pan-skillet-instructions Questions encouraged to correct any problems you see with this posting, resolve any doubts about the item or simply to exchange information (the most valuable of all things). Will be mailed as quickly as possible but I do give myself five days to get it done because of unpredictable everything. Estimating 6 pound package. Yes, I understand cast iron is brittle, packaging will be robust.
